Maps

This map, dated 1858, has been cleaned and rebacked with new archival linen. It originally had extreme water damage and was very delicate. The stains and voids are simply part of its provenance. It can once again be hung for viewing. 

The map had water damage, surface dirt, decayed linen backing, and many cracks and voids. The linen had to be carefully removed while preserving every little bit of map.

The map had been bordered with beautiful lithographs of old homes. Many pieces had been lost in this area.  The remaining fragments were critically loose. or obscured with dirt.
